Cost Accounting Clerk


Manufacturing company in Sussex County, Delaware is looking for manufacturing cost accountant with experience as noted below.


The successful candidate will be responsible for:





  • Performing various duties related to Job Cost Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.




  • Upon completion of contract requirements, generate invoices to customers.




  • Generate payments to vendors/suppliers




  • Confirm actual materials, labor, and sub-contract costs, and prepare reports comparing standard costs to estimates.




  • Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures




  • Maintenance of an orderly financial filing system for all company records as required.




  • Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures




  • Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.




  • Assist in Month end close of the General Ledger




  • Perform miscellaneous accounting and clerical functions to support other departments and management.




  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies




  • Make bank deposits




  • Use computer system (Sage 300) for all required accounting transactions




  • Contact customers on delinquent payments




  • Reconcile Credit Card charges to verify payment obligations and assign costs to appropriate contracts







  • An Associate?s degree in Accounting is required, Bachelor?s degree preferred.




  • Ten years minimum accounting experience, with 5 years minimum cost accounting concentration.




  • Excellent math and computer skills, with experience using Sage particularly beneficial.




  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.




  • Strong attention to detail.




  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and communication skills.




  • Experience with bank reconciliations.




  • Ability to multi-task, and meet multiple deadlines.






Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
